Focused Intensives

Focused intensives are multi-session workshops focused on building skills and community around a topic related to public engagement and research impacts. The sessions are grounded in active engagement and reflection, incorporating tools, resources and best practices. Focused intensives allow participants to apply these skills to participants’ own projects and goals and build relationships across campus.

Spring 2025 Focused Intensive

Catalyzing Your Impact Pathway(s)

May 12-15, 9:30 am -12:30 pm, Alexander G. Ruthven Building, 1109 Geddes Ave

In Catalyzing Your Impact Pathway(s), participants will explore possible pathways for translating their research for societal impact, build a vision and strategic guide to integrate impacts work into their scholarly responsibilities and connect with campus partners to support these ambitions. Participants will leave with a draft of a desired public impact statement.

Focused intensive sessions are sequential and build on each other; therefore attending all four sessions is encouraged and committing to attending four out of the five sessions is required to successfully complete the series. While programming is primarily aimed at faculty, all researchers and research support staff are welcome to apply. Faculty who successfully complete the focused intensive are eligible to apply for $500 in research discretionary funds.
