Training and Education
Continued education, training, and social awareness are essential for fostering inclusive cultures, mitigating biases, and driving success in our units. Our Training and Education toolkits comprise resources designed to support learning and expanding knowledge. By providing training and educational resources, OVPR endeavors to create environments that are fair, enhance innovation, and achieve better mission-related outcomes.
8 Building Blocks of Culture Change
Laying a strong foundation for lasting transformation
Engagement
We’re working toward a more connected, intentional approach to how we support learning, collaboration, and growth across OVPR. This framework brings clarity to the different ways people can engage with ideas, processes, and one another—whether through conversation, structured practice, or shared reflection. Each format is designed to foster trust, build shared understanding, and strengthen the habits that help us work better together. These experiences will help us build a stronger culture over time, emphasizing curiosity, shared goals, and mutual support.
Engagement Formats | Purpose |
Information Session | A presentation-style session designed to build awareness and foundational understanding of a topic. These sessions are primarily one-way delivery with limited interaction, focused on sharing key updates, context, or background information. |
Navigation Session | A structured, topic-specific session designed to help individuals confidently move through a defined process. These sessions emphasize clarity, preparation, and practical application, often including examples, guidance, and space for questions. |
Training | A structured learning experience focused on building foundational knowledge or skills. Training sessions typically follow a defined curriculum or set of objectives and may be required or recommended for specific roles, tasks, or systems. |
Workshop | An interactive session designed to build or strengthen specific skills, concepts, or strategies through hands-on activities and collaborative discussion. Workshops emphasize application, practice, and participant engagement. |
Working Session | A collaborative space where participants actively engage in applying knowledge, co-creating materials, problem-solving, or advancing shared goals. These sessions are often work-time focused and may result in tangible outputs. |
Engagement Session | A reflective, dialogue-based session focused on creating space for connection, reflection, and shared learning. These sessions often center on lived experience, values, or culture, and prioritize listening, perspective-sharing, and relationship-building. |
Guidance Package | A thoughtful set of guidelines for producing effective outcomes around various topics associated with OVPR’s culture journey. Each guidance package consists of a compilation of recommended approaches, concrete examples, and implementation strategies on topics associated with specific processes, procedures, or areas of operation across OVPR. |
