An Office of Management and Budget directive to federal agencies pausing federal funding has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge. The Jan. 27 directive called for a “temporary pause [on] all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated by the executive orders…” beginning Jan. 28 at 5 p.m.
An administrative stay issued by U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan will expire Feb. 3. The order was in response to a lawsuit filed earlier on Jan. 28 by a coalition of nonprofits, public health organizations and small businesses.
