RCI Block Grants provide support for funding categories determined to be of high need for certain units’ faculty/researchers (especially in the arts and humanities), such as small preliminary/seed grants (typical size <$2K), publication subvention, performances, and art and humanity discipline/field-specific research development activities.

Award Information
  • RCI Block Grants are $100K/year for each eligible unit, awarded to unit RADs
  • The program will run for three years and then be reassessed.
Eligibility
  • College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (Humanities and Social Sciences)
  • Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning
  • Stamps School of Art & Design
  • School of Music, Theatre & Dance
Proposal Requirements

RADs will submit a 2-page request for justification and also engage in discussion with OVPR.

Proposal Submissions
  • A formal request is submitted once a year (May 1) to OVPR by the RAD of the eligible unit for the upcoming fiscal year.
