NIH 101

This session will provide a comprehensive introduction to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Attendees will gain insights into the structure of NIH, explore strategies for identifying funding opportunities, and learn the critical components of crafting a competitive grant proposal. Large NIH center grants will be highlighted. Additionally, the session will explain the NIH peer review process and award determination.

Budgeting for Large-Scale Proposals

This session will guide participants in developing comprehensive budgets for large-scale proposals, including recommendations for essential budget items to consider. Attendees will learn strategies for accurately estimating costs, justifying expenditures and integrating budget considerations into successful grant applications.

NIH Updates to the Biosketch (and Using SciENcv)

In this session, participants will learn about the NIH’s transition to the Common Forms coming in May 2025, including the requirement to use SciENcv for creating biosketches. Best practices for tailoring a compelling biosketch to specific funding opportunities will also be discussed.
