Bold Challenges Pollination Workshops

Climate & Health

Join us for an interactive Pollination Event to spark new collaborations and bring awareness to external funding opportunities at the intersection of climate and health. This event will highlight key opportunities, including the new Burroughs Wellcome Fund: Climate + Health Excellence (CHEX) Centers, as well as other upcoming federal and foundation funding.

Why Attend?
  • Funding Awareness: Learn about the latest funding sources targeting climate, biomedical, and health research.
  • Idea Sharing & Networking: Engage with peers to exchange ideas, form new collaborations, and explore interdisciplinary idea development.
  • Research Support: Meet representatives from the Office of Research Development, the Research Foundations Partnerships team, and other U-M centers and institutes ready to support your research. 
  • Seed Funding: Apply for $10,000 in seed funding from the Bold Challenges Initiative (available to up to five teams) to develop your ideas and build collaborative teams.

The event will be held virtually via Zoom on Friday November 8th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please register by November 7th.

Women’s Health

Hosted by Bold Challenges and Public Engagement and Research Impacts, this Pollination Event aims to foster collaboration between community partners and U-M faculty, centering the voices of those directly impacted by women’s health issues and motivating future research. Participants may apply for up to $10,000 from Bold Challenges to further engage with community organizations, host a workshop, and develop their research ideas. 

Why Attend?

  • Network: Build connections with community partners, research faculty, and funders.
  • Collaborate: Brainstorm and ideate around women’s health research with diverse thought partners spanning various organizations, disciplines, and campus units.
  • Discover: Learn about emerging external funding opportunities and campus resources to support sustainable and equitable community partnerships, successful proposal development, strategic planning, and translational research solutions.

The event will be held at the Michigan Union, Pendleton Room on Friday November 15th from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. This is an in-person event with no hybrid option available.
