Federal Service and Leadership Opportunities
There are many ways to impact and influence national priorities addressing societal challenges. For Congress, you could be invited to provide expert testimony on your area of expertise and provide expert opinion on legislation or a current issue that the committee is trying to understand better and/or find solutions for. If you have been asked to provide expert testimony before a House or Senate Committee, reach out to Kristina Ko or Madeline Nykaza from the U-M Washington D.C. office and consult the resource document for testifying faculty, available here.
The federal government regularly asks for nominations to serve on Federal Advisory Committees, to be recognized with national awards. We will update this page regularly with opportunities as they become available and encourage you to self-nominate, ask someone to nominate you, or nominate your U-M colleague.
