Dear Colleagues,

The University of Michigan is aware that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has paused consideration of new grant applications, an action that will likely delay funding decisions about research projects. In particular, the NIH has stopped posting public notice of upcoming grant review meetings in the Federal Register, a requirement for holding many federal meetings, and has canceled scheduled grant review panels.

University leaders are assessing the potential impact of this action on the U-M research enterprise. There is no action that researchers or research administrators should take at this time. We will continue to share updated information as soon as it is available.

Please continue to visit the OVPR website for updates on research agency directives and the Public Affairs website for broader information on federal actions. We also welcome your feedback, insight, and questions at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Skip
