Associate VP, Health Sciences
As associate vice president for research - health sciences, Srijan Sen supports the research efforts of faculty in the health sciences. Sen, the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Professor of Depression and Neurosciences, also collaborates with members of the UMOR Leadership Team to foster interdisciplinary initiatives, and provide support for UMOR units and programs.
Professor Sen earned both a Ph.D. and M.D. from U-M and joined the university as an assistant professor in 2009. He leads a large, multi-institution study that uses the physician training experience as a model of stress. Through this project, his research focuses on understanding the biology linking stress and depression, the promise of digital technology in mental health and improving physician wellness.
Since 2015, Professor Sen has served as associate chair for research and faculty development in the Department of Psychiatry, as well as associate director of the U-M Comprehensive Depression Center.
