Researching a Global Pandemic

Researchers across a wide variety of disciplines at the University of Michigan are using their expertise to address the global COVID-19 pandemic.

"These are indeed challenging times, but I am confident the generation of scientific knowledge across the University of Michigan will play a critical role as we work together to find solutions to this pandemic," said Rebecca Cunningham, U-M vice president for research.

The Office of the Vice President for Research organized a committee to review and prioritize (within two days) new or modified research projects related to COVID-19 that involve university resources, including human subjects, basic laboratory and animal research, or require significant university resources to stand up. U-M researchers that are interested in leading COVID-19 research projects should complete the following form, in addition to submitting their projects for review by the appropriate regulatory committees, such as IRB, IACUC and IBC.

Index Your COVID-19 Research

U-M would like to index coronavirus projects in which our faculty are involved. Projects that use U-M resources, such as the IRB, animals or wet laboratories, are being reviewed by the OVPR COVID-19 Research Committee, and those PIs are being asked whether they would like their projects indexed. If you are engaged in a project that does not involve such resources, and would like OVPR to index your coronavirus project on its COVID-19 portal to increase awareness and foster collaboration among researchers, please complete the following form.
