As associate vice president for research, advanced research computing, Michielssen works with the campus research community to ensure that U-M’s advanced research computing infrastructure meets the complex and evolving needs of university researchers in a wide range of disciplines. Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at U-M provides high-performance computing services; support for connecting to advanced computing resources; and workshops, speakers and conferences to enrich the advanced computing research community. His research interests include all aspects of theoretical and applied computational electromagnetics, as well as development of fast frequency and time-domain integral equation-based techniques for analyzing electromagnetic phenomena.
